On the East Coast, our Boston staff is ready to breathe a sigh of relief as such a long and harsh winter draws to a close. We know the dogs love the snow but us “two-leggers” have limits! We also have some exciting regional news and some pawesome pictures to show you. So hold onto your leashes and read on!…
Local News
We’ve been spending a lot of time establishing ourselves in the pet community in San Diego, and have made some great friends along the way. Everyone has been incredibly warm and welcoming, and we wouldn’t still be in this if it weren’t for their support! We also participated in the K9 Cancer Walk to support the Morris Animal Foundation. The weather was terrible, but the turnout was still strong.
Heat Safety
When dealing with hot temperatures, we all know it’s easy for dogs to get overheated. What a lot of pet owners don’t know however, is what exactly to look for when evaluating their pets for signs of heat-related issues. Glazed over eyes, dizziness and a deep red or purple colored tongue are just a few of the many signs to be watchful of. Take a few minutes to read this post by the Humane Society on keeping your pets safe in extreme temperatures. It could save your pets life! http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/pets_safe_heat_wave.html
“Decadent Dog Spotlight”
On the lighter side of things, we’re excited to introduce a new feature we’re calling the “Decadent Dog Spotlight”! Every now and then we’ll be randomly selecting some of our Decadent Dogs and Cats to spotlight in this feature, so be sure to check back regularly and keep your eyes peeled. You might just see your very own little ones getting their time in the limelight!
That’s all for now folks, hope you’re having a safe and enjoyable 2015. We’ll see you next time in the Decadent Dog Digest!
